Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when create an account profile to use our services. Some of this information included:
When you register for an account, you provide us with your name and email address to verify your email account.
When you create a profile, you provide us with detailed information regarding your Age, Gender, Ethnicity, Religion, Income & Employment details. You can also provide documentary proof in support of your profile alongside details of a referee who can verify your profile. We request detailed information regarding your Faith & Religious views and practices as well as your Personality. You have the option to upload personal photos, videos and connect to your other social media platforms through sharing links and ID handles.
To add certain content, like pictures or videos, you may allow us to access your camera or photo album. Some of the data you choose to provide us may be considered “special” or “sensitive” in certain jurisdictions, for example your racial or ethnic origins, sexual orientation and religious beliefs. By choosing to provide this information, you consent to our processing of that information.
When you subscribe to a paid service or make a purchase directly from us (rather than through a platform such as iOS or Android), you provide us or our payment service provider with information, such as your debit or credit card number, bank account details or other financial information.
If you contact our customer care team, we collect the data you give us during the interaction. Sometimes, we monitor or record these interactions for training or security purposes and to ensure a high quality of service.
If you ask us to communicate with or otherwise process data of other people (for example, a nominated referee), we collect this data to complete the request and update your profile accordingly.
We also process your chats with other users as well as the content you publish, as part of the operation of the services.
In addition to the data you provide us directly, we may also receive information about you from other individuals. For example, your nominated referee or other service users.

When you use our services, we collect information about which features you’ve used, how you’ve used them and the devices you use to access our services. Some indicative examples are provided below:
Usage Information
We collect information about your activity on our services, for instance the date and time you logged in, features you’ve been using, searches, clicks and profile matches. We capture data on how you interact with other users including private information requests and messaging.
Device information
We collect information from and about the device(s) you use to access our services, including:
hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, device-specific and apps settings and characteristics, app crashes, browser type, version and language, operating system, time zones, identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser (e.g., IMEI/UDID and MAC address).

We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g., web beacons, pixels) to recognise you and/or your device(s). Most of the time, the reason we process your information is to perform the contract that you have with us. For instance, as you go about using our service to build meaningful connections, we use your information to maintain your account and your profile, to make it viewable to other users and recommend other users to you.

For instance, we analyse users’ behaviour on our services to continuously improve our offerings, we suggest offers we think might interest you, and we process information for administrative, fraud detection and other legal purposes.

How we share information.
In order to deliver our contracted services to you, we share certain aspects of your information with other user, for example, Name, Age, Qualifications etc. With the exception of mandatory information that is displayed on all user profiles, you have full control over what information is displayed to other users. This can be manged through the user dashboard when a profile is ‘live’.
We also share some users’ information with service providers and partners who assist us in operating the services, in some cases, legal authorities. Indicative examples are provided below:
With other users:
You share information with other users when you voluntarily disclose information on the service (including your public profile). Please be cautious when doing so and ensure you only disclose details you’re comfortable with sharing. Islamic Proposal Ltd will not share or disclose any documentary evidence or proof you provide during your registration process with any other users. You can control which aspects of your profile are viewable by other users through your privacy settings on the dashboard. You also have the option to make all aspects of your profile visible to all users.
For corporate transactions
We may transfer your information if we are involved, whether in whole or in part, in a merger, sale, acquisition, divestiture, restructuring, reorganisation, dissolution, bankruptcy or other change of ownership or control.
When required by law
We may disclose your information if reasonably necessary: (i) to comply with a legal process, such as a court order, subpoena or search warrant, government / law enforcement investigation or other legal requirements; (ii) to assist in the prevention or detection of crime (subject in each case to applicable law); or (iii) to protect the safety of any person.

Cross border data transfers

For example, to the United States of America and other jurisdictions in the case of a criminal investigation or to protect & safeguard vulnerable individuals. Where the service allows for users to be located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), their personal information is transferred to countries outside of the EEA. Cross border data transfer will only occur in honouring a legal commitment/responsibility. In doing so we will process you data in accordance with the required data management standards.

Your information is securely stored on a secure server.
We keep your names, personal details and contact information for up to seven years. We will then dispose your information securely as per GDPR requirements.

How we protect your information.
We work hard to protect you from unauthorised access to or alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information. We will actively seek to minimise data breaches and protect your information. However, this is not always possible and breaches may occur, either through user error or technological failure. In such an event, we will notify you of any data breach and how you may have been affected. We also have a statutory responsibility to inform the Information Commissioners Office.
